I Greet You in The Matchless Name of Jesus,
I am honored and consider it a privilege to serve as the Pastor and servant leader of First A.M.E. Church in Alexandria, Virginia where we pray, study God’s Word, worship God, seek to serve God, the local and global community, and one another to fulfill the Great Commission -together!
The Word of God reminds us in Matthew 6:33, “But strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” In this one verse God wants you to know that when, not if, you follow God first, God will give you everything you have been praying for and everything you need.
With all that is going on the world today and with all that we encounter along this journey we call life, this one verse simply reminds us to keep our priorities in order; allow God to order your steps and God will keep your life in order.
At First A.M.E., here a few things to keep as a priority in your life:
- The Word of God (Psalm 119:105): The Word of God provides direction along the path to wherever God is leading you.
- Prayer (James 5:16): Prayer is essential to transformation, togetherness, and releases God’s Will for our lives.
- Worship (Psalm 105): Worship is the outward expression of our gratefulness and our response to the great and small things God has done, is doing, and will do.
- Generosity (1 John 3:17): God has blessed us with everything we have to be a blessing to those in need and to build the body of Christ in the community.
- Service (1 Peter 4:10): God has given each of us unique gifts and talents to be used to build God’s Kingdom and to meet others at their need, whatever that may be.
- The Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20): God’s Holy mandate is to be the church, but also grow the church by sharing God’s message of hope by word and deed. You might be on assignment to help someone get their priorities in order and lead them to a relationship with the Lord, Jesus Christ.
When we put God first, get our priorities in order, then, everything we ask, everything we desire to do, and everything we need will be given to us. God has plans for each of us that we have yet to imagine (Jeremiah 29:11). If you are looking for a church family to belong to help you find what God has for you, there’s a seat and a place for you at First A.M.E. Church of Alexandria. Seek and you will find!
